L. Fournier & Fils was selected Business of the year in the category Contribution to the Regional and Economic Development at the39th Mercuriades Competition organized by the Quebec Federation of chambers of Commerce, at the celebration marking excellence of Quebec companies, held last Monday.
Family-owned company currently managed by the third generation of entrepreneurs, L. Fournier & Fils has been active in Quebec for the past 81 years in the mining, industrial, commercial and residential sector. The family-owned company is favourably embedded in the Val-d’Or regional landscape owing to their installations and infrastructure, their implication within local foundations and organizations and their significant positive partnerships with First Nations.
In addition to the previous award, L. Fournier & Fils was also nominated is the category “Sustainable development strategy Produits forestiers Résolu (PME), regarding the valorization and second transformation of mining sterile located near the urban area of the town of Val-d’Or. Efforts and work on the abandoned mine site improve significantly the imprint on the landscape ecology and the industrial landscape.
